Many Echo Show owners have been frustrated for some time by unremovable ads on their devices. Ads suddenly appear between calendar, time, and family photos, sometimes in full-screen format. Amazon seems to be testing how far users will tolerate these measures. Now, the ads are even reaching pure Echo audio models. Alexa is Amazon's intelligent voice assistant, primarily used on Echo models. In addition to the various Echo Shows with displays, there are also Echos that function solely as speakers.

When was October Prime Day 2025? This year, Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale, which typically takes place in October, ran from Oct. 7-8. The annual sale offered a wide range of deals on household goods and electronics, with some lingering offers still live. Are Amazon Echo devices really cheaper on Prime Day? Echo devices are typically at their lowest prices during Amazon Prime Day and even the Prime Big Deal Days sale.

But from my own discussions with the design team, it's clear that what Amazon has created are not just new voice assistants, or even mix-and-matachable speakers capable of creating a 3D soundscape for movies and music in your home. What these new Echo products are supposed to do is enable a more intuitive (and intimate, and surveillant) AI for home tomorrow-one that doesn't just hear what you say, but senses what you do.
