Tefaf New York, which returns to the Park Avenue Armory from 15 to 19 May. Bringing together 88 exhibitors from 14 countries, this latest edition of the fair promises more of the brand's distinctively broad scope, this time spanning Greco-Roman antiquities, jewellery, 20th-century design and contemporary art.

It was a night at the museum like no other. As the staccato sound of firecrackers and explosions rang out across Martyr's Square in the heart of Tripoli, for once it was not Libya's militias battling it out for a larger stake in the country's oil economy, but a huge firework display celebrating the reopening of one of the finest museums in the Mediterranean.

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office has recently repatriated over 30 antiquities to Spain, Italy, and Hungary, in a concerted effort against antiquities trafficking.
