There was a big gap in the market. A lot of shades didn't complement our golden and olive skin tones. And as we age, our skin changes, but the makeup hasn't. A lot of makeup isn't infused with skincare. Especially for mature skin. I wanted to create something that enhances beauty while caring for it.
I probably thought about it the most before I went to rehab aged 25. Because I felt I'd lived an entire life then. I was so lost and I was trying everything - trying a bit of a job, a bit of a drug. I went through tonnes of friendship groups and people. I was so discombobulated and I felt my oldest then.
"Back in 2016, I wanted to create the first digitally-connected hair care brand," she tells Bustle. "That's why I'm really happy to be here in Miami with Capital One to help support creators who are also budding businesspeople."
