United States President Donald Trump and New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani held surprisingly cordial talks in the White House on Friday, defying expectations of a potentially tense meeting between the Republican billionaire and the self-proclaimed Democratic socialist. The warmth displayed came in stark contrast to the barbs the pair have exchanged in recent months. In a Friday appearance on Fox News, Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) said that 57% of people who identify themselves as MAGA republicans support an extension of Obama-era tax credits for those who buy their own health insurance through the ACA Marketplace. The statistic comes from a new poll published on Friday by the Kaiser Family Foundation, which found that 78% of all adults support Congress in extending these tax credits, along with 57% of MAGA Republicans.
"We need to push forward with our bill," said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., on his way to Senate votes recently. "Our bill already has been instrumental in shifting attitudes in the White House."
