The highly subjective, obsessively researched Top 50 list is a collection of our favorite special-occasion spots around town, from old-school fancy to more modern, casual takes on luxury, while the Top New list highlights some of the most exciting recent debuts, so you can expect Taste to be an extra-special occasion. We're delighted that some spectacular restaurants from each list, and others featured in Boston magazine in the past, will be joining us for the evening, serving up irresistible bites to attendees.

A South End restaurant, which features Spanish-style tapas, a curated wine list and cocktails, was recently named one of Eater's most essential and influential restaurants in America over the past 20 years. Toro has been a Boston staple since it opened 20 years ago but the list further cements its status as one of the best restaurants in the country.

The New York Times has recently had a lot to say about Boston's restaurant scene with lists about Boston's top eateries and the country's best, which Boston claimed two spots. The paper's best of Boston list featured 25 restaurants in the region, including the omakase O Ya, Brookline Thai restaurant Mahaniyom, North End classic Neptune Oyster, and Italian restaurant Tonino. Last week the Times also published its list of America's 50 best restaurants, which included two eateries in Boston: La Padrona and McGonagle's.

Sometimes you're fine with simply finding the closest possible restaurant patio for a pleasant al fresco meal. At other times, though, there's something about ascending to a rooftop bar for a slightly more, well, elevated experience.
