There's one story on Boston's TV news stations that won't seem to go away: an exodus of on-air talent that has been depleting the ranks of local broadcasters in recent years. Big names including WBZ-TV's (Channel 4) Jon Keller and WHDH-TV's (Channel 7) Kim Khazei are just the most recent examples of the accelerating flight of journalists from the airwaves.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- KGO-TV/ABC7, the ABC-owned television station in San Francisco, also serving Oakland and San Jose is seeking an accredited meteorologist or experienced weather anchor to produce and present daily weather forecasts for newscasts, on digital and social platforms. The meteorologist/weather anchor will use weather software systems to create and present forecasts for various newscasts. This employee will also create forecasts for digital and social platforms and for the KGO-TV/ABC7 24/7 live stream.

KGO-TV/ABC7 News, the ABC Owned Television station in San Francisco, is seeking a smart, dedicated and aggressive multi-skilled journalist who loves to dig and enterprise lead stories. ABC7 News is committed to Building a Better Bay Area through solutions journalism. The ideal candidate must be a passionate storyteller, brilliant multi-platform content creator, effective communicator and proven collaborator. Candidates must have a strong editorial background in a breaking news environment.

It's really easy to sit on the outside and critique these organizations and highlight errors or perceived errors. And to be clear, I do that sometimes too. Heck, I own Mediaite, the site that covers media, but actually being in the trenches, trying to gather and break news what an ABC News does every day is hard and admirable. Much harder than just getting to cherry-pick potential issues from the outside.

They've already got the journalism part down, but they have to have the platform delivery down,

"I was more naïve then. You think most people are used to the rhythm and cadence of traditional linear television. It doesn't work that way."

Tanya Simon, with 25 years of experience on 60 Minutes, has been named executive producer after serving as interim executive producer since April. She has significantly contributed to the show.
