Charlton Athletic have made their first signing since winning promotion to the Championship by bringing in Blackpool midfielder Sonny Carey on a free transfer.

I'm very proud and delighted. I still had three years left but for the club to come to me and want to continue that journey meant a lot to me because it's a club that I love.

Jon Blythe, head of operations at The Valley, highlighted the intention behind the extended hours for the fan zone, explaining, "The original submission was done to facilitate the wide schedule during which matches could be played. This fan zone is intended for match days only..." He emphasized that the hours were crafted to enhance the experience for fans while ensuring they remained within a reasonable timeframe.
