Sony's latest State of Play was a beefy. hour-long show of new games coming to the PS5. If you weren't able to catch the stream live, you can watch it below, but if you just want the highlights, read on. Kena: Scars of Kosmora Ghost of Yotei Legends Sucker Punch is up next with Legends, the co-op multiplayer side of Ghost of Yotei. We saw four playable classes working together in what looks like raids against demon armies.

Announced on a random Thursday with little fanfare, Horizon Hunters Gathering is a new co-op game from the Guerilla team set in the Horizon universe, and will launch on PS5 and PC. The idea is that you and three other people will team up to tackle replayable hunts across several different game modes like Machine Incursion and Cauldron Descent. Both will be playable in an upcoming closed beta due at the end of February which you can sign up for here.

A multiplayer, co-op Assassin's Creed game was reportedly cancelled by Ubisoft as part of restructuring efforts at the company. The game, codenamed Assassin's Creed League, was in development at Ubisoft's Annecy team, but was shut down recently. The Assassin's Creed title was not among the six other cancelled projects that Ubisoft confirmed last month, according to a report published in French outlet Origami on Thursday.

Created by Swedish developer Embark Studios, Arc Raiders is an extraction shooter: an online multiplayer game that drops you into a world with other people to search for valuable weapons and items before attempting to escape with all your spoils. You can play alone or with up to two friends in a squad. Larian's Divinity series harkens back to the genre's heyday in the '90s, when studios like BioWare led the industry. With a new Divinity game announced at The Game Awards, the award-winning studio shadowdropped the series' most recent game, 2017's Divinity: Original Sin 2, onto Switch 2 and current-gen consoles. If you're a Baldur's Gate 3 fan, this timely re-release is one you should pick up.

Teaming up with friends can transform an ordinary gaming experience into something much more unique and enjoyable. Cooperative gaming can strengthen friendships, help you create unforgettable memories, and often add a bit of hilarity and chaos to the experience. Co-op games also usually offer a wide amount of replayability, and thankfully, there is no shortage of games you can play with your friends on PlayStation 5.

Of course, it's worth noting that the game features co-op--2 players in split-screen and up to 4 players online--which can speed things up dramatically. Working with friends to finish different parts of a job can help you progress much more quickly if you just want to see every job through as fast as possible. That being said, if you're ever feeling antsy while undertaking one of the game's larger jobs solo, feel free to hop over and start up another for a change of scenery.

Borderlands 4 will introduce individual difficulty settings in co-op multiplayer, allowing players to tackle challenges at their respective skill levels while maintaining a seamless experience.
