Stations and depots across the London transport network have been transformed with gardens as part of an annual Transport for London (TfL) contest. The In Bloom competition, which started in 1910, sees TfL staff decorate stations and depots with flowers, fruits, vegetables and plants. To celebrate TfL's silver jubilee, the new Best Theme award was introduced, won by Highbury & Islington station. South Tottenham station won the top prize, the Best in Show award, as well as the Best Cultivated Garden.
One of Travis County's most consistent investments over the last few years has been toward mitigating the opioid overdose crisis, partially funded by a national settlement with the drug companies that helped cause the crisis. In November of last year, the county invested $400,000 of those funds into harm reduction services, and on Tuesday, they upped that to $525,000, which will be split between three community partners: LifeWorks, Texas Harm Reduction Alliance, and Vivent Health.
The Contra Costa County Library is partnering with Tech Exchange to offer drop-in tech support at three branches, beginning July 29. Tech Exchange will assist patrons with various technology needs, including Internet service sign-ups and navigating library computers.
