It's probably a good thing I'll be traveling tomorrow and may not have time for a Rundown, because the news cycle lately has been nothing but minor league deals. We're still going to talk about some of them, mainly because we'd have so little to discuss otherwise, but I don't think skipping a day will leave anyone with a news void that won't be easily filled. For the Cubs in particular, it feels like we've reached the point of coasting into camp.

But after taking a commanding 2-0 lead, their NL Central rival Cubs evened the series with two wins at Wrigley Field. Now we're back in Milwaukee -- with the winner moving on to face the Los Angeles Dodgers for the NL pennant.
The Cubs have claimed right-hander Aaron Civale off waivers from the White Sox, according to a team announcement. Left-hander Tom Cosgrove was designated for assignment to make room for Civale on the 40-man roster. In addition the White Sox announced that they've selected the contract of right-hander Bryse Wilson to replace Civale on the club's active and 40-man rosters. More to come.
The White Sox made a late lineup change ahead of Sunday's Crosstown Series finale, replacing Austin Slater with Luis Robert Jr. as designated hitter due to adductor soreness.
Jameson Taillon threw 47 pitches during a bullpen session, aiming to return from a right calf strain after being placed on the injured list on July 4. Before his injury, he posted a 4.44 ERA and 1.11 WHIP across 95.1 innings with 10 quality starts.
