DALLAS (AP) - The gunman who opened fire on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas hated the U.S. government and wanted to incite terror by killing federal agents, officials said Thursday, offering the first hint of a motive in the attack. The shooting at daybreak Wednesday targeted the ICE building, including a van in a gated entryway that held detainees. One detainee was killed, and two other were critically wounded. No ICE personnel were hurt.

Officials identified the shooter as Robin Westman, 23, and said Westman was found dead in the parking lot from what they believe was a self-inflicted gunshot. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said authorities were searching a vehicle in the parking lot believed to be the shooter's and three associated residences in the area. They also were scouring content that Westman allegedly scheduled to be released on YouTube and has since been removed from the platform.

The fact is, you can’t just categorize the entire transgender community based on the actions of a single individual. This false labeling does a disservice to actual statistics and realities.
