Education Minister Helen McEntee addressed the alarming absenteeism figures, emphasizing the necessity for action amidst reports of 110,000 primary and 65,000 secondary school children missing significant school days.
The Government has been in place for five months with a 20 seat majority and nothing has been done, despite election commitments, to sort this out.
"It has been decided to ban all activities of the so-called Muslim Brotherhood and to consider any [of its] activity a violation of the provisions of the law," said Interior Minister Mazen al-Faraya.
James Murray, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, emphasized that government officials are actively working to ensure that raw materials reach Scunthorpe steelworks to keep operations running smoothly. He stated, "The shipments have arrived, they're in the UK, they're nearby," indicating confidence in the necessary supplies being available. However, he noted there are challenges in getting them into the blast furnaces, which is the current focus of government efforts.
The scale of these closures is completely avoidable because pubs are doing a brisk trade. Consumer demand is there, however, profits are being wiped out with sky high bills and pubs are facing yet more rates and costs come April.
Prof. Alexis Jay stated that further inquiries into grooming gangs would delay action, emphasizing that over 400 recommendations from previous reviews remain unaddressed, urging local and national authorities to act on them.
