I've put maybe five or six hours into , and I spent maybe two of those hours desperately searching for two items: Raichunite X and Raichunite Y. These two Mega Stones would allow Raichu, my favorite Pokémon who has never gotten any respect , to Mega Evolve into one of two forms. I had been begging Game Freak for Mega Raichu for so long, I had honestly given up hope that my boy would get a superpowered transformation in , then they gave him two.

I waited over a decade for Raichu to get a Mega Evolution, so I sympathize with anyone who has a beloved Pokémon they're hoping might get one in upcoming Mega Dimension DLC. Now that my favorite electric rat has not just one, but Mega Evolutions, the title for "most oppressed Pokémon fan waiting for a Mega Evolution" now goes to the Flygon stans, and they're really going through it.

DLC is just a few weeks away, and it's bringing a handful of new Mega Evolutions, a roguelike mode, and additional story to the RPG. Today, Game Freak announced that Zeraora, one of the rare mythical Pokémon from Generation VI, is getting its own Mega Evolution in the DLC with a new trailer, and it sure does sound like the Pokémon Legends: Z-A 's Mega Dimension datamined list of new Megas is legitimate.

The big update is called Mega Rising, and this expansion adds powerful Mega Evolved Pokemon to the digital card game. The Mega Rising expansion features Mega Gyarados, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Altaria as powerful new Mega Evolution Pokemon ex cards. These Mega Evolved Pokemon will each headline their own booster pack, so players will have plenty of new cards to open.

The first thing I thought upon arriving in Lumiose City in Pokémon Legends: Z-A was, 'Yes. This definitely looks like a modern Pokémon game.' Bright colours, basic textures and oddly flat buildings. Seriously - realising that the balconies and window shutters lack any depth, instead being pasted onto the buildings like stickers, made my brain go strange for a bit. Yet despite this, Lumiose City feels far more rich in life compared to Paldea and the desolate Hisui.

The sheer madness of Pokémon card prices not only continues on with the latest Mega Evolution set, but gets even more ludicrous. A year back, when putting together these galleries of the highest-priced cards in a set, the bottom end of the top 10 would generally be around $10, with a peak at around $100. For Mega Evolution, our number 10 card is currently selling for over $50, and your eyes will be watering by the end.

One of the oddest things Game Freak did with Pokémon X and Y a decade ago was introducing the Mega Evolution mechanic and not giving a beefier form to the game's three starters: Greninja, Chesnaught, and Delphox. Greninja went on to have a special "Ash-Greninja" form based on a transformation shown in the anime, but none of the Kalos starters got to take part in their region's battle gimmick. That's finally changing in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
