Layden Robinson earned a Falcons rookie minicamp opportunity and can compete for a roster or practice-squad spot after prior NFL stints with the Patriots and Raiders.
Winning a 49ers starting guard job to open last season, ran into injury trouble and ultimately lost his job. The veteran interior O-lineman suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2, being part of another injury-riddled 49ers season. Upon return, Bartch did not reacquire his starting job.
Acquired from the Houston Texans this offseason to stabilize the blindside for Jayden Daniels, Tunsil has been simply sensational. In nine starts, spanning 348 pass-blocking snaps, he's allowed just one sack, one quarterback hit, and 14 total pressures. That type of efficiency is rare for any tackle, but for one adjusting to a new system, new cadence, and new expectations, it's even more impressive.
Dallas Cowboys guard Tyler Smith is going to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, per ESPN's Todd Archer. Smith, who signed a long-term extension with the Cowboys a few weeks back, missed last Sunday's game on the road against the New York Jets. Technically speaking he suited up, but he has been dealing with an ankle issue and was only dressed for emergency purposes as the Cowboys have been down a number of offensive linemen to date.
