"I can't give you a real detailed answer to that," he said. "Carlson took warmups, so that tells you something, that's it's hopefully not something that's going to be extremely long-term. And Sourdy, I'll have a better idea once we talk to Serbs (Capitals head athletic trainer Jason Serbus). Nothing long-term, but (he is) going to miss a little bit of time."
NEW YORK -- Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin is expected to miss the rest of the NHL season with a torn ACL in his right knee. Coach Glen Gulutzan said Tuesday that Seguin would be out several months after the 33-year-old was injured Monday night at the New York Rangers. Seguin got tangled up with Rangers defenseman Vladislav Gavirkov in the first period of the game at Madison Square Garden.
Palmieri got up, hobbled toward the Isles bench, but along the way the Philadelphia Flyers brought the puck back into their own zone. Palmieri, somehow with the wherewithal to keep his mind in the game through what was no doubt excruciating pain, stripped the puck from Flyers defenseman Emil Andrae, passed it off and got an assist on the ensuing goal.
The Florida Panthers will be without one of their top defensive forwards, Eetu Luostarinen, on a week-to-week basis after he suffered a unique off-the-ice injury. According to team reporter Jameson Olive, head coach Paul Maurice announced that Luostarinen recently suffered burns during "a barbecue accident." Luostarinen's burns weren't severe enough to require an overnight hospital stay, but the Finnish forward's return date is unknown until he feels comfortable enough to put his gear back on.
I just feel comfortable, the winger, who has a goal and three assists, said following the team's practice on Monday. I feel like I'm not thinking anymore on the ice, just playing my game.
