One of the traditional markers of Barcelona's pre-season is the Joan Gamper Trophy, the annual friendly hosted at the Camp Nou that has served as a curtain-raiser for the new campaign for decades. The fixture gives Hansi Flick's side a chance to fine-tune their preparations in front of their home fans before the competitive season begins.
Pre-season is done and now the Munich Frauen get down to the real business of winning trophies, starting in the very first fixture of the season. After a 3-1 friendly loss to Newcastle United and a 2-2 draw with Zürich, new coach José Barcala took his team on a five-day training camp in Tyrol. Bayern returned by beating Real Madrid 4-1 in Munich, although then lost their final friendly by the same scoreline against OL Lyonnes.
I feel there's still a lot more to come. Sometimes me and other football fans forget I'm still 25, and as a centre-back you're normally in your prime at 28 or 29, so in that way, I'm still quite young.
It will be great to be back at Anfield for the first time since we lifted the Premier League trophy back in May, and we are all looking forward to that.
