A years-long protest by tenants at Thorncliffe Park has come to an end after "an amicable agreement" was reached with the private landlord, Starlight Investments. The agreement comes after tenants at 71, 75 and 79 Thorncliffe Park Dr. began protesting above-guideline rent increases, varying from 4.94 per cent to 5.5 per cent, in 2023. Over the course of their protest, residents also spoke out about the disrepair of their units since landlords Starlight Investments and Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) took over in 2019.
