Redesigns are exciting. They promise cleaner layouts, better usability, and a refreshed brand presence. But when your product has millions of active users, redesigning becomes a balancing act between innovation and continuity. Many a times, it involves continuing on projects which was originally desgined by another person no longer part of team for reference. I learned this while redesigning HUD on Country Escape: Farmville 2, a mobile farming game with a player base of millions spanning over a decade.
