What have we learned from Scotland in 2025?

Ten games, two wins, two draws and six defeats. Twelve goals scored, 23 conceded. Eight debutants, two head coaches and one Nations League A relegation. It has been quite the 12 months since Scotland froze in Finland at the chance to reach Euro 2025 exactly one year ago on 3 December 2024. That devastating defeat and miserable missed opportunity always meant this year was likely to be one of rebuilding and reenergising.

Brown, 23, who plays in the USL Super League for Sporting Club Jacksonville, made her under-23s debut in May and impressed in wins over Iceland. The towering centre-back is one of four changes from Andreatta's first squad as boss earlier this year.

England v Scotland: Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 quarter-final live

22 mins: We go again with another scrum, but not before plenty of disagreement between both front rows and the referee over their starting marks. Share 21 mins: A brief pause as Talling has tape applied to her hand. Scotland have actually edged possession in the first quarter, but need a score to make England at all nervous. Share 20 mins: A first scrum, with Scotland putting in and winning the ball through Brebner-Holden, whose kick-through has Natasha Hunt under pressure. She can't afford a mistake behind the posts, but tidies up effectively. Share
