Glitch's decision to shut down its app hosting platform highlights the challenges older technologies face against more modern competitors, creating unexpected stress for users.

Pocket, a subsidiary of Mozilla, is shutting down, as Mozilla is changing strategies and Pocket's services will no longer be part of their plan.

"...after careful consideration, we have made the hard decision to sunset the Fauna service over the next several months," the company wrote in a blog post.
