A go-slow protest took place in Dublin this week after the company launched a 'fixed price' feature, which allows you to see the maximum fare your trip will cost. John Meagher talks to drivers who say their livelihoods are under threat It is Wednesday afternoon in Dublin and a long line of taxis idle in the bus lane at Conyngham Road, on the perimeter of the Phoenix Park.

Gardaí have advised the public to expect disruption in Dublin city due to the protest. Delays are expected in the vicinity of Dublin Airport and Conyngham Road to Merrion Street via the Northside city centre quay. Delays are also expected from UCD to Merrion Square via the N11, and the Estuary Road, Swords and Northwood, and Santry. Motorists have been encouraged to avoid these routes where possible and allow extra time for any commute in the surrounding areas.

Taxi drivers have expressed concerns that the upcoming fare changes for transporting certified ill patients would significantly diminish their earnings, undermining their livelihood.
