Conan O'Brien will host the upcoming 99th Academy Awards for the third consecutive time on March 14, 2027. He'll become the first person to host three years in a row since Billy Crystal hosted four in a row from 1990 to '94. "Conan has created remarkable energy around 'The Oscars,'" president of Disney Television Group Craig Erwich said in a statement. "His singular comedic voice makes Hollywood's biggest night one of the most entertaining celebrations of the year. We're proud to welcome him back and look forward to what he and the producing team deliver next."

Yannis Pappas is a stand-up comedian, podcaster, and television host, delivering fearless comedy, sharp observations, and crowd-favorite performances across stages and screens. He was also the co-host of MSG's sports fan show, The Bracket, BetMGM's Unleashed with Olivia harlan Dekker and the co-host of ABC's Fusion Live. Yannis has been part of the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, New York Comedy Festival and tours the world as a stand-up comedian.

So when his latest and most formal gig began with a sketch - harkening back to his most renowned small-screen success to date: the "Washington's Dream" sketch on "SNL" - there was reason to believe he'd be able to walk the fine line between sincerely honoring artistic accomplishments and poking fun at those being honored (and, presumably, himself). It's the host's eternal struggle, after all: combining the ceremony's three main genres - comedy, drama, and limited series - into one fun, moving, and snappy show.

Josh Johnson scored record viewership numbers in his hosting debut, outstripping Jon Stewart in the key 18-49 demographic with 226,000 viewers.
