After a bid opened in 2015, it was announced in 2016 that Vegas would be welcoming an NHL team and started their first season in the 2017-2018 campaign. Just a few weeks into the Knights first season, the city of Seattle came together with the Oak View Group to renovate KeyArena, making it possible place for an NHL team. A year after that, the NHL approved Seattle as an expansion into the league, with them starting their inaugural season in 2021.
The Vegas Golden Knights made arguably the biggest headline of the offseason acquiring star forward Mitch Marner. Now, it's time to figure out how to arrange the top six in order to put the strongest lineup on the ice for opening night. Head coach Bruce Cassidy has quite the task in front of him with a seemingly endless number of line combinations that could reasonably play together.
One of those minor league teams is the Las Vegas Aviators, the AAA (the highest level of minor league baseball and basically their "AHL") affiliate of the Oakland A's. The Aviators are paying tribute to the city's NHL team, the Golden Knights, with a giveaway on their September 18th game. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Golden Knights and Aviators crossover baseball jersey.
