Ariola, Brooks-Powers welcome station repairs at Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street - QNS
""The current status of this station makes daily travel more difficult, more stressful, and in some cases impossible," they wrote in the letter to Lieber in January."
""We appreciate the agency's recent action to complete temporary repairs and restore full platform access for riders," Brooks-Powers and Ariola said in a joint statement."
Council Members Joann Ariola and Selvena Brooks-Powers welcomed the MTA's completion of temporary repairs at the Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street station. Earlier, they raised concerns about the station's dilapidated conditions, which made it difficult for riders, especially those with disabilities. The fencing off of part of the platform forced commuters to navigate broken infrastructure and walk between train cars. The MTA's recent actions have restored full access to the station, addressing the issues raised by the community.
