If you want to know who won what (and who lost) at the 2025 Game Awards, we've got you covered. Perhaps you didn't watch the awards this year? Maybe you did, but missed the rapid-fire announcement of certain winners? It can be tricky to keep up with how fast awards are handed out at this show. Geoff needs more time for pricey trailers!
Because we're products of a system that excludes certain people, it's surprisingly easy to do the same. Unless we've experienced exclusion or someone has pointed it out to us. Gradually, this exclusion seeps into design, and not only through inaccessible interfaces. Ableist design shows up in the user needs we forget to anticipate, who we don't invite for user research, and how we deprioritise tasks of a project.
And since we already rely on Playwright for visual regression testing and our end-to-end suite, adding accessibility checks right on top of that felt like the obvious next step. No new tools to learn, just extending a setup we know well with Axe's engine running inside the same Playwright workflows. Configuration First, we created a helper to get a pre-configured Axe instance. Our configuration focuses on WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA criteria.
The best restaurants in New York are not the places that cater to foodie tourists and billionaire gastronomes - not necessarily and certainly not exclusively. They're the ones that balance quality, utility, and ambience in a way that makes them places to go once or go often with an acknowledgment that sometimes it's your anniversary and you need to ball out, and sometimes it's just another Wednesday.
The plan, set to happen in phases, remodels everything: support structures, decking, railings, utilities and adjacent infrastructure. The proposed new boardwalk would stretch to 80 feet wide for much of its length, providing a wider, sturdier promenade that can handle both peak summer foot traffic and everyday bustle. What's more, accessibility upgrades are part of the deal, meaning there will be better access points and ramps that make the boardwalk easier to navigate for everyone.

Apple's Liquid Glass UI for iOS 26 is getting a lot of attention. Beyond the visual hype, it is also raising questions about accessibility and usability. Developers, however, are already trying to recreate the effect for the web and mobile interfaces. On iOS, Liquid Glass is backed by a rendering engine designed to generate high-fidelity, physics-like glass patterns efficiently. Web browsers do not expose this kind of native abstraction, but we do have SVG filters, which are powerful enough to approximate the same effect.
But Jane and Finch resident Butterfly GoPaul worries about the new line having fewer stops than the previous 36C Finch West bus line, which offered 35 stops between Finch West subway station and Humberview Boulevard at View Green Crescent. Finch West is made up of a lot of highrise buildings, families, folks that have disabilities, and elders, she told CBC Toronto. We've already lost a lot of stops along the way. So people are going to have to walk [farther] to their closest stop.
The resort town of Banff, in southwestern Canada's Alberta province, is the heart of Banff National Park, a 2,500-square-mile adventure haven beloved in summer for its sparkling alpine lakes, wildflower fields, and scenic hiking trails that crisscross the mountainous landscape. But in this stretch of the Rockies, where ski season can last up to late May, resorts, hotels, and tours are adding winter appeal on and off the slopes.
The pace of online gaming evolution has been tremendous - from single-player browser-based games to multiplayer immersive digital worlds. Online gaming is now an indubitable cornerstone of the entertainment industry and has fundamentally transformed how individuals engage with, consume, and learn digital content. As the advancement of technology continues to evolve, the impact of online gaming will continue to propel gaming to heights of modern entertainment that were inconceivable two decades ago.
As demonstrated by this clip, new update adds a "Music Volume" option in the racer's settings that lets you adjust how loud the music is while you're driving around and throwing blue shells at each other. However, the only options you have in this setting are "Normal" and "Loud." You can't tweak these presets at all, and most people who adjust the music volume in video games aren't making it ; they're usually trying to balance it so they can hear audio cues, voice acting,
MyLidl app uses confusing terminology, making it a challenge to find anything. Photo illustration by the author. When we talk about the fundamental principles of accessibility, it's typically applied to websites, and of course, to building design. My recent experience with grocery shopping post-pandemic has got me thinking about the ways in which those principles are being violated in the day-to-day routine of feeding ourselves.
Digital equity in education ensures every student has access to the same digital resources and opportunities. Inclusive smart classroom technology embodies this principle by accommodating diverse learning needs. These tools enable all students, regardless of ability or background, to benefit from technology. Smart boards, for instance, can serve as assistive classroom technology, allowing students with disabilities to engage more fully.
At React Advanced 2025, Aurora Scharff presented Building Interactive Async UI with React 19 and Ariakit and shared how ARIAKit, an open-source accessibility library, enables developers to build custom UI components that meet WCAG standards without requiring deep accessibility expertise. The presentation showcased a practical approach to combining ARIAKit's unstyled primitives with modern React patterns to create production-ready, accessible interfaces.

Many beginners start exploring UX through online coding courses, because these programs help you understand how digital products are built and why design decisions matter. You do not need prior experience
Soon after, the French architectural firm BLP was entrusted with renovating it and bringing natural light back into the original three-story building, designed in an eclectic style by the architect Charles Planckaert. The idea "was to open it to the city and make it more accessible to the public", says the museum's head of collections Hélène Ferron. The central patio's glass roof has been restored and a mosaic by Giandomenico Facchina that lay behind layers of plaster has been uncovered.
Public transport operator EBS has placed an order with BYD for 73 electric buses, which will enter service in Zeeland from December 2026 under the brand Reizen Door Zeeland, the name under which the company will operate public transport in the province. The news is shared by EBS itself with a press note. The order comprises 64 twelve-metre buses and 9 fifteen-metre buses, with the first vehicles expected to be delivered in summer 2026.
Fiona Hinze can see it coming when she spins around the streets of San Francisco: An indicator showing that her wheelchair battery is running out of juice. Hinze is always with someone when she's out with her power chair. When the battery dies, she switches on the manual mode, takes the chair out of gear, and asks her companion to push her chair - which weighs a couple hundred pounds, plus her body weight - to her car.
Under the proposals, buses that currently serve Oxford Street would be rerouted to the north, heading along Wigmore Street and Henrietta Place. Two new pairs of bus stops with shelters and countdown displays would be installed along this route. It's expected that the diversion would add no more than a minute to journey times.
Mayor of London Sir Sadiq Khan said: "We need urgent action to give the nation's high street a new lease of life." PA Media "I'm pleased that we're now moving ahead with our exciting plans to regenerate this iconic area, backed by the vast majority of Londoners and businesses," he added. Fernando Andrade understood this intimately when he began designing the Amazon Bus Station in Belém, a project born not from architectural ego but from genuine public consultation with the people who would actually use it. They asked for four things: protection from the weather, environmental comfort, durability, and reasonable cost. What they got exceeded every expectation: a soaring, sculptural shelter that treats public transit users as deserving of the same design attention typically reserved for museums and corporate headquarters.
Doctors said Wong likely wouldn't live beyond the age of 18, which she said limited her early worldview in ways that ultimately pushed her toward justice work. 'Doctors told my parents I wouldn't live past 18, so I grew up never imagining what grownup old ass Alice would look like, and this is why visibility, being able to tell our stories and controlling our own narratives, is why I do what I do,' Wong said during a 2024 summit, per the Chronicle.
I really hope my casting sets precedent, says Bode, adding: It's just navigating a world and a system that we have just not been acknowledged in as we should be.
