Google Gemini can now handle scheduled tasks like an assistant
Briefly

Google's Gemini has introduced a new feature called "scheduled actions," aimed at enhancing user productivity for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. This allows users to set specific times for the AI assistant to execute tasks, such as summarizing daily calendars or generating weekly content ideas. Additionally, Gemini can handle one-off tasks, like providing immediate updates after events. Subscribers can manage these planned actions through the Gemini app, reflecting Google's intention to develop a more functional, agent-like AI assistant, similar to features offered by OpenAI's ChatGPT.
"Just tell Gemini what you need and when, and it will take care of the rest," the company writes in a post announcing the change.
Users can also have Gemini complete one-off tasks using this feature, such as asking for a summary of an award show the day after it happens.
