Serpentine and the US-based FLAG Art Foundation announced a prize that will award £1 million over ten years to five artists, equating to £200,000 per recipient and representing the largest contemporary art prize in the UK awarded to a single artist. Glenn Fuhrman is the founder of The FLAG Art Foundation and Jonathan Rider is its director. Joan Semmel’s Sunlight (1978) appears in an exhibition at the Jewish Museum in New York; Rebecca Shaykin is the show's curator.
