Colorado is home to 456 craft breweries down from a peak of 468 in 2023 ranking fourth nationwide in 2024, according to the Brewers Association (BA), which hosts GABF. Those breweries produced a combined 779,338 barrels of beer and generated $2.5 billion in economic impact for the state, according to BA data. Closings accelerated in 2024, when there were 41 compared to 35 in 2023.

Dubbed the Rec Room, it's East Brother's first taproom outside of the East Bay flagship. The 3,500-square-foot space will eventually have 15 beers on tap, including its popular Bo Pils, a light, crisp Bohemian-style pilsner. The taproom doesn't serve food, but people can bring sustenance from the Metreon food court inside to enjoy with their beer. On Friday, curious San Franciscans filtered into the new space. Over in North Carolina, the Wilmington Brewing Company, brews its Pretty Pumpkin Ale with 100, whole pumpkin pies sourced from a local bakery. The beer is "a malty, smooth ale with a subtle pumpkin flavor" as the brewery described on Instagram. Served on tap at the brewery, you get to enjoy the ale with a sweet, fall-inspired upgrade: a sugar-cinnamon rim.

AleSmith is celebrating its 30th anniversary with momentum behind new products in and out of beer and a growing contract brewing business. According to data from market analyst Circana, Michelob Ultra surpassed Modelo Especial in sales volume at bars, restaurants, and other retail outlets, but Modelo still leads in revenue. Each case of Modelo costs about $7 more than a case of Michelob Ultra, so one brand leads in volume (units sold) and the other in income. In other words, customers buy more Michelob Ultra, but spend more on Modelo.

Since the advent of the craft beer revolution, great breweries have popped up in every corner of the United States, with almost 10,000 breweries operating in the country as of 2023. That's up from only around 90 in the '70s, when macrobrews like Budweiser and Coors were at their most dominant. The second rotational beer that Best Day has brought back as a core beer due to consumer feedback and demand, Galaxy Ripple is an out-of-this-world Imperial IPA with tropical notes and made with Galaxy Hops, the company says. This complex beer's bright, hoppy aroma and full-bodied malt sweetness are complemented by layered flavors of peach, pineapple, passion fruit and pine, it notes.

Voodoo Ranger, the popular IPA beer brand, has announced a partnership with 2K Games to create a special-edition Borderlands 4 IPA. The beer is called Voodoo Ranger x Borderlands 4 IPA, it comes in six-packs, and they're available across the US right now ( via BleedingCool). As the owner of R&R Brewing, Ryan Roberts maximizes value from every square foot of his property in pickle-famous Mount Olive, N.C.. He built a fenced-in yard for folks to grab BBQ and more from food trucks, ideally to enjoy with pints, but many people didn't venture inside the brewery. "That land still has taxes paid on it, so it's like, what can we do to make this dirt more valuable?" says Roberts, who opened R&R in 2018.
