Officer injured in alleged altercation during show at MGM Music Hall
"Around 9:50 p.m., Edwin Rivera, 30, of Mashpee, was removed from the venue. During his removal, Rivera allegedly became combative, threw a beverage, and swung at an officer. Rivera then reportedly grabbed the officer's jacket, attempted to pull him towards the crowded sidewalk, displaced the officer's radio, and reached for the officer's firearm, police say. Officers were able to eventually place Rivera under arrest despite resistance, say police."
"During the altercation with Rivera, Steven Costa, 27, of Hyannis, yelled at and attempted to strike an officer who fell, police said. Costa allegedly ignored several verbal warnings and officers used a taser to take him into custody. Medical personnel assessed Costa, Rivera, and the injured officer. The officer was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of related injuries."

Officers eventually arrested Rivera despite resistance. During the altercation, Steven Costa, 27, of Hyannis, yelled at and attempted to strike an officer and ignored verbal warnings before officers used a taser to take him into custody. Medical personnel assessed Costa, Rivera, and the injured officer, and the officer was transported to a hospital. Rivera and Costa face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
