Funeral services were held Wednesday in Salem for Massachusetts State Police trooper Kevin Trainor, who was killed by a wrong-way driver in Lynnfield. Trainor was 30, grew up in Salem, and most recently lived in Georgetown. Officials said he was heading home after a shift when he responded to reports of a wrong-way driver on Route 1 in the early morning hours of May 6. A car driven by Hernan Marrero, 50, of Roslindale collided with Trainor’s cruiser, killing both men. Mourners gathered at St. James Church for the service, where state troopers and public officials participated, including Gov. Maura Healey.
