According to law enforcement sources, the young woman was riding a northbound D train as it entered the New Utrecht Avenue and 55th Street station at around 1:52 am on May 22 when the horrific attack occurred.
The perpetrator approached the victim, brandished an 'unknown sharp object' and stabbed the unsuspecting woman in the torso and on the shoulder, police described.
Bloodied and injured from the assault, the victim was able to leave the train at 36th Street to get help.
