Heartless thief robs 10-year-old of piggy bank money at knifepoint in sick Brooklyn hold-up
"The man followed him to our doorway, Amir then went to his piggy bank and took some cash out and brought it back to the man, who then left."
"He realized that the man had a knife and he was frightened, and just decided to not give any push back. He was like 'Mom I just wanted to get him away.'"
"That's why I complied. Because if they have a knife on them, I don't have anything for me. And he's bigger than me and he's taller than me and he has a weapon."
A 10-year-old boy named Amir Nur was followed home from school in Crown Heights and threatened at knifepoint. The attacker demanded cash and the frightened child retrieved $20 from a piggy bank he had earned through chores and good behavior. The theft occurred while the boy's mother was out exchanging her phone. The family suspended the recent allowance for the boy to walk home alone until police locate the suspect. Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry reimbursed the child and gave him an iPad as a gesture of support.
