Emily Chandler, an ELA and special education teacher at PS 371K, was awarded the FLAG Award for Excellence in Education, receiving a surprise $25,000 prize. This award is given to exceptional educators who make lasting impacts on their students. Chandler's innovative teaching blends multiple subjects in a project-based approach. Recognized for her efforts, she aims to inspire students through various creative projects, leading to significant academic achievements, including an 80% pass rate. This honor highlights the importance of impactful teaching within the context of New York City's educational landscape.
