"He was having issues last game, like blurry [vision]. It's not like a scratched cornea, nothing dangerous, but we got to let it clear up."
"Mitchell acknowledged that it was tough because he could not really see out of his left eye."
Donovan Mitchell will sit out Thursday's game against the Chicago Bulls with a left eye contusion. The injury occurred during practice when Mitchell collided with teammate Evan Mobley, leaving his eye bloodshot. Despite the injury, Mitchell played in Tuesday's game against Milwaukee but struggled significantly, shooting 4 of 14 from the field for 19 points. He reported difficulty seeing out of his left eye after the game. Coach Atkinson confirmed Mitchell experienced blurry vision but ruled out serious damage like a corneal scratch, stating the eye needs time to clear up. The Cavaliers also remain without center Jarrett Allen due to right knee tendinitis.
