Barca want UCL opener away from Camp Nou
Briefly

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that the club has approached UEFA to request playing their opening Champions League game away from home, as the Spotify Camp Nou remains under renovation. The Champions League group stage is set for September 16-18. The club has faced multiple delays in returning to their home ground, previously announcing a return date for the Joan Gamper Trophy but being forced to relocate due to licensing issues. Laporta emphasized that returning this season is essential for financial commitments.
"What we have asked UEFA is to allow us to play the first match away from home. The draw is on Aug. 28, and we will see what happens then."
"We are not considering the possibility of not returning [this coming season]. All the budgets we have drawn up for next season... are based on returning to Spotify Camp Nou."
