A collection of on-set photographs, sketches, letters and posters captures the production of a Nicolas Roeg film. Images show Roeg directing Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, cinematographer Tony Richmond at work, and artist concepts for a stone figure restored by the character John Baxter. Photographers and multiple cameras staged complex sequences, including a celebrated drowning scene that used stand-ins and a stunt double. Production incidents included a camera dropped into a pond and a subsequent rescue. Correspondence records scheduling, stock allocation and assurances about final film length. A Polish release poster and scenes filmed at the Palazzo Grimani are also documented.
