Some of Ikea's Matter-compatible smart devices are now available in the US
"When Ikea announced its collection of 21 new Matter-over-Thread devices last month, it wasn't expecting the new hardware to be available in the US until January 2026. Over the past month the devices have started showing up across Europe, but a handful of them are now available through Ikea's US website and some of its physical stores across the country."
"We also now know how the new hardware will be priced in the US, which wasn't previously shared. The Myggspray indoor / outdoor wireless motion sensor that can trigger lights is $9.99, as is the Klippbok water sensor that can be placed under appliances to detect and alert you to leaks through notifications and its own audible alarm. The Myggbett door / window sensor that can trigger lights or notifications when they're opened or closed is cheaper at $7.99, but the Alpstuga, Ikea's first air quality sensor that can measure CO2 and the level of airborne PM2.5 particles in your home, is $29.99."
Ikea released a 21-device Matter-over-Thread hardware lineup and initially expected US availability in January 2026. The devices began appearing across Europe, and a handful are now available on Ikea's US website and in some US stores. Four of the five announced smart sensors can be integrated into smart home setups, while the Kajplats smart bulb collection has not launched in the US. US pricing: Myggspray motion sensor $9.99, Klippbok water sensor $9.99, Myggbett door/window sensor $7.99, and Alpstuga air quality sensor $29.99. A Bilresa three-pack remote is listed at $19.99 but shows as sold out online and is not in US retail locations.
