The oldest baked bread, dating back to around 3300 B.C. from the Kulluoba Mound, has been successfully replicated in Eskisehir, Turkey. The replica bread, commissioned by the municipality, sells about 300 loaves daily since its public unveiling. Archaeologists believe the ancient loaf, preserved due to burning during a ritual, indicates the emergence of agricultural settlements in Anatolia. The original bread contained a unique wheat variety with traces of lentils and was baked quickly, revealing insights into the dietary practices of Early Bronze Age communities.
