June Bunyan, 37, moved from the U.K. to the U.S., took the bar exam, and held multiple degrees, including a law degree. Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department contacted Jonathan Renteria on Sept. 11 after learning about a possible homicide in Hollywood. Los Angeles police found a body in a home on Franklin Avenue; the killing appeared to be domestic violence. Renteria was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder and charged with mutilation, disinterment and sexual contact with human remains. Court records show Bunyan and Renteria were married for one year and had a one-month-old baby. Renteria allegedly admitted to choking and killing her after an argument related to her postpartum weight.
