Three people are now facing charges, including one man charged with murder, in connection with a fatal June shooting in the parking lot of a Dedham BJ's, prosecutors announced Tuesday. James Brown, 23, is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 1 in Norfolk Superior Court on charges of murder, armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a firearm, and carrying a firearm without a license, court documents show.
Three adults - two men and a woman - were found dead at the scene. It is understood the three deceased are members of the same family. Initial indications are that the three victims died violently. Gardaí arrested a man, aged in his thirties, in relation to the incident at around 10am this morning. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and it is understood medical assistance is being sought for him.
The San Francisco Police Department is offering a $50,000 reward for information about the shooting death of wheelchair-bound Keith Albert, 32, who was killed at 20th and Shotwell streets in August 2024. The department today posted a bulletin with images of a young man with black hair, wearing glasses and red-and-white gloves as an "unknown suspect." The reward, the bulletin said, is for information "leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) responsible."
His remains were discovered on a steep, remote, wooded slope part way up Grindstone Mountain in central Washington, less than a mile (1.6 km) from the campsite where the bodies of 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker and 5-year-old Olivia Decker were found on June 2, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said. Law enforcement teams had been searching more than three months for Decker, 32, before the sheriff's office announced last week it had located human remains believed to be his.
With so few updates, she has little faith law enforcement will arrest the person who shot her son, even though it happened in the middle of the day as hundreds of thousands of people attended one of the city's largest public celebrations. The boyfriend of a Bronx woman who was stabbed to death in a park on Wednesday night has been charged with her murder after detectives determined his claims that robbers had killed her were a hoax. Franklin Batallas, 44, of Westchester Avenue, stands accused of murdering his lover Anthonella Contreras Linarez, 30 in an attack that occurred near the City Island Circle, at Park Drive and City Island Road, in Pelham Bay Park at about 8:10 p.m. on Sept. 17.
A 95-year-old woman is accused of beating her roommate, a Holocaust survivor, to death at a Brooklyn, New York City, nursing home this week. Galina Smirnova, 95, was charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon in the death of Nina Kravtsov, 89, according to the criminal complaint. She has pleaded not guilty. The two were roommates at Seagate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coney Island.

A woman is dead after being found with serious injuries in Newcastle, Ont. Tuesday morning, Durham police say. Durham Regional Police said officers responded to a call about "unknown trouble" near Farrow Avenue and Highway 2 just after 9 a.m. A woman was located suffering from obvious signs of trauma and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Nearly 100 people gathered Monday evening to honour the victims of a fatal house fire believed to be arson in Richmond Hill, Ont. The fire, which happened in the area of Skywood Drive and Rollinghill Road, has left two people dead and three other people in critical condition. Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the home shortly before 3 a.m. on Sept. 1.
