Flames ripped through the property based beside the Beckenham Odeon cinema on Tuesday morning with some 70 firefighters taking two-and-a-half hours to bring the blaze under control. Local business owner Chris Penfold said he had raised concerns about a wooden structure on the roof of the building and told the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) it "was just a question of when, rather than if [a fire broke out]". The Met Police is investigating the cause of the fire and the council said it could not comment while this is taking place.

Katelyn Tully, 32, began her career in law enforcement at the Haverhill Police Department, and served on both the Police and Military Honor Guards, the obituary says. Tully, a decorated army veteran who served in Afghanistan for six months, will be buried with military honors. The cause of Rivas Hernandez's death remains under investigation weeks after police found her dismembered body in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, on Sept. 9, a day after her 15th birthday.

A missing toddler has died after being discovered in a neighbor's pool, Riverside County authorities said Saturday. The girl, who has not been identified, was rushed to a hospital but pronounced deceased at the facility. Shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, Riverside County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a drowning on the 30000 block of Wellington Circle in Temecula.

A missing toddler was found in a Temecula pool Saturday evening, Sept. 27, and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead. Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies were called just before 5 p.m. to the 30000 block of Wellington Circle, near Calle Medusa, after a report of a missing 3-year-old-child. Deputies found the girl in a neighbor's pool and rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived and she was hospitalized,

A news release said inmates Christian M. Dumas, 24, and Stephen J. Archer II, 38, were attacking inmate Brenton G. Kinzebaw. Brenten G. Kinzenbaw (COURTESY CDCR) Staff immediately responded, utilizing chemical agents to quell the attack, the release explains. Officers immediately restrained Dumas and Archer and removed them from the yard, initiated life-saving measures on Kinzenbaw and activated 911. Kinzenbaw was transported to the institution's triage and treatment area where he was pronounced deceased by prison medical staff at 8:15 a.m.

Thirty-two cats and one dog were killed in an apartment fire on Sunday morning, Sep. 21 in Long Beach. Crews responded at 7:21 a.m. to the blaze at a three-story apartment building in the 3500 block of Linden Avenue, in the California Heights neighborhood, according to the Long Beach Fire Department. Multiple people called 911 after seeing smoke in the third-floor hallway and fire coming from one of the units, said LBFD spokesperson Capt. Jack Crabtree.

RICHMOND A man in his 30s was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a fire crew ran him over with their truck outside a Cutting Boulevard fire station, authorities said. The man, who has not been publicly identified, was asleep outside Station 67 on Thursday evening when a Richmond fire truck drove over him as firefighters left for an emergency call. ANTIOCH - Authorities on Wednesday announced an arrest in an injury shooting earlier this month in Antioch. Silvio Roberto Belini Jr., 47, of Brentwood, was taken into custody at an undisclosed address in Brentwood, according to Antioch police Lt. Bill Whitaker. Detectives also served a search warrant and collected evidence related to the shooting. Whitaker did not release any additional information about the case, which he said remains under investigation.

Investigators believe that a knife, which appears to be a common kitchen knife, was used to cause a "single stab wound to the victim's neck," the Pershing County Sheriff's Office said in a Wednesday news release. The press release included a stock image of a neon green and blue knife inside a plastic sheath, which the sheriff's office clarified was "not the actual knife used in crime."

A person attending a sideshow fell to their death early Saturday morning while attempting to jump across a gap between freeway ramps in the East Bay suburb of Crockett. More than 200 people attended the event, which consisted of an estimated 150 cars. As KPIX reports, a witness described seeing a group of young spectators hopping between freeway ramps near Interstate 80 and the Carquinez Bridge around 3:30 am Saturday in an effort to get a better view of the sideshow.

Police in Portugal said Friday that 11 of the 16 people killed when a streetcar derailed were foreigners, as an initial investigative report examining what caused the popular Lisbon tourist attraction to crash was delayed by a day. The dead included five Portuguese nationals, three British citizens, two Canadians, two South Koreans, one American, one French, one Swiss and one Ukrainian, police said in a statement.
