Beginning June 2, Hacton Drive will transition to a pedestrian and cycle-only zone as part of an experimental traffic order from Havering Council. This initiative aims to improve safety for children attending the nearby Sanders and Suttons Primary Schools. Enforcement will occur on weekdays between 8 am to 9 am and 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm during term time. The trial will last a maximum of 18 months, during which residents may submit objections. Similar trials have recently been implemented in other locations to increase safety around schools.
Hacton Drive is now a pedestrian and cycle-only zone during school hours, as part of a temporary trial by Havering Council to improve safety around local schools.
The trial enforces restrictions on Hacton Drive from 8 am to 9 am and 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm during weekdays, allowing for pedestrian safety during school commutes.
