An Oxford Economics impact report found YouTube content creators contributed £2.2bn to the UK economy in 2024 and supported 45,000 jobs. An all-party parliamentary group has been launched to represent UK creators and influencers and to provide industry insights to policy-makers despite having no formal power. Co-chair Feryal Clark called creators trailblazers and said they had been undervalued in Westminster. Creators welcomed recognition and highlighted barriers including access to training and funding, suitable studio spaces, and film permits. Creator Lilly Sabri credited YouTube with enabling her businesses and career alongside her physiotherapy qualification.
