An Intercity Express (ICE) train carrying around 400 passengers became stranded in a tunnel near Vienna due to a power failure shortly after departure. Passengers were left in heat and darkness as evacuation efforts extended for more than six hours. The situation was exacerbated when some passengers attempted to leave on foot, prompting safety protocols that delayed the rescue. Eventually, the evacuation was completed via emergency exits, and those rescued were taken back to Vienna via buses.
