FAI to tell Oireachtas Committee that no 'disrespect was intended' when they pulled out of scheduled appearance
"disrespect was intended"
"borne out of a genuine concern that the Association has had regarding some of the contradictory messaging we have received about the scope of the hearing"
The FAI will appear before the Oireachtas Committee on Sport on Wednesday and will begin by insisting no disrespect was intended when it withdrew from a scheduled appearance last Friday and then reversed that decision. CEO David Courell will state that the association's indecision was borne out of a genuine concern about contradictory messaging regarding the scope of the hearing. The FAI intends to clarify its reasons for the withdrawal and reversal and to explain its understanding of the hearing's parameters and expectations to the committee.
