A 21-year-old man was shot in the arm in Antioch, with police responding to the incident on Thursday afternoon. The victim was taken to a hospital where he is in stable condition. Authorities are currently investigating the shooting but have not identified any suspects. Preliminary indications suggest that this shooting may be isolated. This incident follows another shooting earlier in the week that critically injured a woman, also deemed likely isolated as per police reports.
According to an Antioch Police Department news release, the victim is a 21-year-old man whom officers did not identify. Police said they responded to a reported shooting about 4 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Crater Peak Way and found the man who'd been shot at least once in the arm.
However, the shooting comes on the heels of another in Antioch this week that left a woman in critical condition.
Based on the initial investigation, it appears to be an isolated incident, the news release said.
Police released few details but said the incident is likely isolated as well.
