Randa's Market on 16th Street, Home of the Late KitKat, Has Gotten a New Bodega Cat

"Waymo's account was that KitKat "darted under our vehicle as it was pulling away," after the robotaxi had pulled over to pick up passengers. The company said, "We send our deepest sympathies to the cat's owner and the community who knew and loved him, and we will be making a donation to a local animal rights organization in his honor.""

Coco replaces KitKat, who was struck and killed by a Waymo on October 27, prompting local outcry, a Waymo statement of condolences and a pledged donation, and a rally and legislative push by Supervisor Jackie Fielder.
