Heat beat writer states painful Terry Rozier truth after nightmare offseason
"With the start of NBA Training Camp days away, it's become quite clear (and reported extensively by Heat writer Anthony Chiang) that Rozier is going to be an active participant for the Heat. And it's not necessarily because the Heat believe he can change the narrative with his on-the-court play this season, but more so because there's not another team in the NBA that is willing to take him on."
"It's been widely reported that the Heat has attempted to trade Rozier, but has had no success in doing so and has found no traction. To add injury to insult, Rozier isn't expected to have much interest in a buyout, even if the Heat were open to going down that route. Maybe that changes in a couple of months (on both sides), but at least for now, both the Heat and Rozier must figure out how to make the best of this pretty undesirable situation."
The Miami Heat attempted to keep roster and salary options open this offseason but were unable to move Terry Rozier. With training camp approaching, Rozier is expected to be an active participant for the team. Other NBA teams showed little interest in acquiring Rozier, so no trade traction materialized. Rozier also appears unlikely to accept a buyout, limiting the Heat's ability to clear his contract. The acquisition of Rozier failed to deliver the desired backcourt production and did not ease tensions involving Jimmy Butler. His tenure with the Heat contained few lasting positives, making the move widely viewed as a costly misstep.
