"ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will miss his second consecutive game -- and this time will be joined on the sideline by receiver Terry McLaurin. Both players were ruled out by coach Dan Quinn for Sunday's game against the Falcons (1-2) in Atlanta. The Commanders (2-1) will start Marcus Mariota at quarterback; he started 13 games for Atlanta in 2022. Quinn also said tight end John Bates (groin/calf) and receiver Noah Brown (groin/knee) won't play."
"None of these players were at practice during the portion open to the media Friday. Running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee) was at Friday's practice after not practicing Wednesday and Thursday. Quinn said he had a good practice. "He's working incredibly hard round the clock to get back," Quinn said. "Ultimately doctors haven't cleared him just yet. He's absolutely doing everything he possibly can.""

Tight end John Bates (groin/calf) and receiver Noah Brown (groin/knee) also will not play. None of those players participated in the media portion of Friday's practice. Running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee) practiced Friday and had a good session but has not yet been medically cleared. Daniels sprained his left knee in Week 2, was limited in practice, and completed agility work at reduced speed while wearing a brace.
