Blue Jays veteran will have a connection to the Hockey Hall of Fame
"Since first playing in MLB with the Houston Astros in 2014, George Springer put together a solid career. Springer has made the All-Star Game four times, won two Silver Sluggers and took home the 2017 World Series MVP. Since 2021, he has become a fan favourite as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. Blue Jays fans have been drawn to not just his play on the field, with 2025 arguably the best season of his career,"
"Springer was born on Sept. 19, 1989, in New Britain, Connecticut. New Britain is roughly over 20 minutes south of Connecticut's capital, Hartford. When Springer was young, Connecticut had a professional hockey team known as the Hartford Whalers, playing in the NHL. In 1997, the Whalers relocated from Hartford to North Carolina and were renamed to the Carolina Hurricanes. Nearly three decades after moving from Hartford, Springer still represents his home state and team with a solid fashion statement,"
